ACTIVE CONSTITUENT: LASALOCID SODIUM 150 g/kg in a cereal carrier.

For improved liveweight gains and feed conversion efficiency in growing cattle and lot fed beef cattle; to aid in the improvement of milk production by dairy cows fed high protein grass pastures and by lot fed dairy cattle and for the reduction of faecal shedding of coccidia Eimeria spp. in sheep maintained in confinement and the control of clinical signs of coccidiosis and reduction of faecal shedding caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii in growing cattle.

Directions for Use:
DO NOT USE in lactating ewes where milk or milk products may be used for human consumption. Not to be used as a single dose treatment.
ONLY FOR USE in feeds for lot fed and supplement fed beef and dairy cattle, calves and sheep.
Efficacy has not been established for use in heifers with respect to enhanced milk production.
Not to be used as a single dose treatment.
This product may be fatal if fed to horses or other equids.

BOVATEC medicated feed may cause a reduction of intake when first introduced to cows. To minimise this effect cattle may be acclimatised by phasing in medicated feed over several days during the pre-calving period. Medicated feed is well tolerated after the introductory period. Provide medicated feed for the duration of lactation and do not exceed preferred use rate for BOVATEC in dairy cattle. Reduced daily gain may result at 5 times and mortality from 15 times maximum recommended dose.

Rates of Administration: BOVATEC CC Feed Additive Premix is for use in complete feed, or supplements to a ration, given by continuous feeding. Mix BOVATEC CC Premix evenly into stock feed.

1. General administration rate:
For improved liveweight gains and feed conversion efficiency and for control of clinical signs of bovine and ovine coccidiosis, BOVATEC CC Premix is used continuously in the feed at a mix rate of between 67 g and 400 g of the premix per tonne of total feed (air dried basis). Daily per head rate for cattle is from 0.5 g to 4 g of BOVATEC CC Premix. Daily per head rate for sheep is from 0.1 g to 0.4 g of BOVATEC CC Premix. Preferred use rate is 220 g per tonne.

2. Administration according to management situation:
A. In total mixed rations: Mix 220 g (0.22 kg) BOVATEC CC Premix in 1 tonne (1000 kg) of feed on a 100 % dry matter basis. This provides 33 mg lasalocid/kg (33 ppm) in the feed. The following table provides a guide to quantities of feed required.

Weight (kg) of cattle/sheep Recommended lasalocid dose (mg/head/day) Daily intake(kg) of feed required
50 50 1.5
100 100 3
200 200 6
300 300 9
400 400 12
500 500 15
600 600 18

B. In supplement to a ration: Add BOVATEC CC Premix to the supplement at the rate provides the recommended lasalocid dose in the total daily allowance (kg) of supplements. Supplements must provide an average daily intake as follows.

Weight (kg)of cattle/sheep Recommended lasalocid dose (mg/head/day) kg of Bovatec CC per tonne of supplement required when fed at the following rates(kg of supplement/head/day)

0.5 1.0 1.5 2.0

D. For control of the clinical signs of coccidiosis In unweaned calves ensure adequate intake of lasalocid (greater than or equal to 1 mg/kg bodyweight daily) for 3 days prior to expected coccidial challenge. In calves less than 4 weeks of age it may not be possible to achieve adequate dose by mixing BOVATEC CC Premix with pelleted starter feeds alone. Use of BOVATEC 200 LIQUID is recommended for unweaned calves. It is not recommended to use BOVATEC CC Premix with milk.
