Product Description:
Avatec (lasalocid), the only divalent polyether ionophore, effectively and safely prevents coccidiosis in broilers with minimal
coccidial resistance and cross-resisitance. It is a broad spectrum anticoccidial approved to protect against the Eimeria
species of major economic importance in broilers and replacement pullets. In addition, Avatec maintains the feed coversion rate,
weight gain as well as water and feed intake of birds. Avatec is sold as Avatec 15% cc.
Active Ingredient: Lasalocid sodium (It is the only divalent ionophore amongst the ionophore group.)
Stability:
Avatec Medicated Premix: Avatec 15% Medicated Premix is relatively stable (95%) under room tempertature of 25°C for the initial 12 months, and also stable for another 6 months at temperatures below 37° C.
Mash: More than 90% of the initial lasalocid concentration in mash feed was retained after storage for 6 months at room temerature (25° C and 37° C).
Pellets: Mash broiler feed was pelleted at 82.2-87.8° C and 90% of the lasalocid concentration was retained within the pellets.
Safety:
Animals: Avatec is non-toxic, producing no adverse effects when used as directed. Lasalocid is non-toxic in poultry and ruminants, and is safe if accidentally consumed by swine.
Chickens: The average oral LD50 of lasalocid in chickens is 71.5mg/kg body weight.
Pigs: There is no significant clinical sign of using lasalocid up to 35mg/kg body weight except for muscular weakness.
Mortality occurs if used at 58 mg/kg/body weight.
