Product Description:
BMD consistently and reliably increases rate of weight gain and improves the efficiency of feed utilisation in poultry and swine. BMD
will aid in the prevention and/or control of various forms of enteritis in both species. BMD is highly effective against Clostridial
perfringens, the causative agent of necrotic enteritis. BMD does not affect the total number of bacteria, it just reduces harmful
bacteria which allows the beneficial bacteria to thrive. BMD is available in both granulated and water-soluble forms.
Active Ingredient: Bacitracin methylene disalicylate
Stability:
BMD is stable in its original packaging with a shelf life of 30 months.
BMD is stable during pelleting and does not interact with other feed ingredients.
Safety:
Animals: No withdrawal of BMD is required when used at recommended levels in recommended species.
Humans: BMD has a zero-day withdrawal for all approved use levels, there is no significant amount of orally administered BMD
absorbed.
Summary:
- BMD is certified for the use in poultry and swine
- BMD enhances growth and feed conversion in broilers and swine
- In sows prior to farrowing, BMD reduces piglet mortality associated with Clostridial perfringens
- In laying hens, BMD increases the quantity of eggs produced and enhances feed conversion for egg production
- At recommended use levels, BMD is not absorbed through the intestinal wall, and works primarily in the intestine,
thus leaves no residues in meat or eggs
- BMD is safe for animals and humans when used as directed
- Extremely safe with no cross-resistance to other antibiotics, a stable resistance profile, no systemic human
use and no detectable residues
